Realism and Abstracion

The polarities of realism and abstraction will be celebrated and explored at the new Soo Rye Art Gallery this Spring. Six artist will demonstrate the extremes of each perspective through acrylic, oil, digital, fiber, needle work and other mixed media techniques.

We're also happy to welcome back Jordan Pouliot as our Event Coordinator and Caterer for the evening of June 9th. He'll be bringing us some unique treats to enjoy alongside the artists and artwork.

Join us Saturday June 9th from 5-8pm for the opening reception!

The exhibit will be on display from June 5th-July 20th 2012

Gallery Events

Vermillion Soul, an exhibit of the recent work of gallery owner, Soo Rye Yoo will be open this Spring. This latest series will explore Soo Rye's continued experiences as well as her views on the importance of the hope in our daily lives.

She furthers her work with the Dream Bird icon that has been our guide through her artwork and introduces new symbols such as the nest, kite and even a return to the human figure.

You won't want to miss this, and if you didn't make it to the drawing exhibit traversing the artist's early exploration of drawing and sketch work you'll be able to view a selection of these as part of our newly renovated ArtShop.

This exhibit will be on display throughout the Spring and into the early Summer on the Second Floor!
